Dr. John Hartig, is currently a Fulbright Scholar serving as the Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Global Governance at Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, Ontario. The focus of his Fulbright is multi-disciplinary research on cleanup of the Great Lakes. John is the former Manager of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. John is also an award winning, non-fiction author.

Dr. Jill Crossman, Assistant Professor, University of Windsor. Dr. Crossman’s research interests include understanding the interactions between land management and aquatic ecosystems, looking to improve lake recovery rates from current issues such as eutrophication and associate hypoxia; and from emerging contaminants, specifically microplastics.

Raj Gill, Great Lakes Organizer, Canadian Freshwater Alliance. The Canadian Freshwater Alliance is a project on Tides Canada’s shared platform, which supports on-the-ground efforts to create uncommon solutions for the common good. Tides Canada is a national Canadian charity dedicated to a healthy environment, social equity, and economic prosperity.

Phil Roberts is the former Executive Director of Parks, City of Windsor. Previously, Phil was President of the Essex County Field Naturalists' Club and a volunteer with the Citizens Environment Alliance.

Theresa McClenaghan, Executive Director and Counsel, Canadian Environmental Law Association. Appointed as Executive Director of CELA in 2007, Theresa has practiced public interest environmental law, in private practice since 1985 and at CELA as counsel from 1998-2006.

John Hartig, Manager of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and writer. His latest book is Bringing Conservation to Cities: Lessons from Building the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge.

Nick Schroeck directs and teaches the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic at Wayne State University Law School. In addition, he is executive director of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center. Previously, Professor Schroeck worked for the National Wildlife Federation, America's largest conservation organization, out of its Great Lakes Natural Resources Center in Ann Arbor.

Angela Bischoff is the Outreach Director of the Ontario Clean Air Alliance. The Ontario Clean Air Alliance is a coalition of individuals and organizations, including the CEA, that represent over six million Ontarians. Angela was recently the winner of Now Magazine's best activist award.

Thanks to this year's guest speakers who engaged and informed our tour patrons. Your insightful knowledge regarding subjects such as the petcoke pile, Ojibway Shores and other environmental issues were informative and saliant to our region's environmental struggles.

Nick Schroeck is the executive director of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center. Nick also teaches the Environmental Law Clinic at Wayne State University Law School. Most recently, Nick worked for the National Wildlife Federation, the U.S.’s largest conservation organization, out of their Great Lakes Natural Resources Center in Ann Arbor.

Sarah Miller is a Senior Researcher with the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) where she has worked since 1978. She is currently managing a toxic use reduction project and involved in numerous cancer prevention groups and committees. Her other area of focus is in Water Sustainability where she is currently a member of several sustainability research groups. Sarah has extensive community development experience where she lives on Toronto Island.
